Our Family
Who we are. Centralville United Methodist Church was established in 1887 as part of the New Hampshire Conference of the Methodist Church. Standing on the same spot where it was first opened one hundred and twenty five years ago, today, it is the only remaining United Methodist presence in the city of Lowell, being comprised of the members of the former St. Paul's and Fellowship United Methodist Churches. Just as the early Methodists in this area served the growing population of the city at that time, so the current members of the Centralville United Methodist church prepare themselves to serve the changing population with different needs and goals. Centralville UMC serves the people of God in this location by offering a variety of mission and educational programs where we follow Jesus' imperative to "feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick and those in prison."
Now, as part of the Central Massachusetts District of the New England Conference, we are a multi-ethnic church, celebrating our diversity and reaching out to all persons wherever they are in Christ. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Mathew 11:28 Open hearts, Open minds, Open doors. Transformed by the Holy Spirit, united in trust, we will respond to God's call to proclaim Christ boldly to the world.
Worship
Worship services combine the traditional and the contemporary with the intent to inspire people wit the power of the Holy Spirit through the hearing of the Word, praying, liturgical dance, singing and responding.
Community Outreach
Reaching out to let others know of God’s grace and caring for each person, we are involved in our local community.
Christian Education
Knowing that our youth have the opportunity to learn about their faith at an early age, we provided Sunday school for school age children.
